FAQ

What ages do you teach?

We cater for all, starting from KS1 and above. Our main focus is A Level, GCSE, SATS and 11 Plus examination. We have expert teachers who are mark exams for EDEXCEL and SATS.

How long are the lessons?

Lessons are usually one hour. Most students come one hour a week, once a week. If however students request longer periods that can be arranged, either by longer lessons or more frequent lessons. If students are doing more than one subject we can arrange both of the lessons on the same day or allocate different days for different subjects.

Is it one to one tuition?

It can be one to one but within a small group setting. We do test before enrolment to find out a student’s strength and weaknesses before we start teaching.

When are you open?

Mondays-Fridays 4pm-8pm.

Saturdays 9am- 4 pm

What if the student is unable to attend the class?

Usually 24 hours’ notice or earlier is accepted. However we understand that exceptional circumstances occur.

Will teachers help with a child’s homework?

Yes, students can bring in work from school that they are struggling with. We usually cover topics as whole. Students should not expect their homework to be done for them; we will help them to complete it. By teaching them the topic, it will increase their knowledge and understanding so that they can complete it independently.

Do you set homework regularly?

Yes, homework is set based upon the topics covered in class. It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that homework is completed. We expect homework to be handed out on time. If students are not completing homework we will inform parent/ career. Students must bring in all homework; failure to hand in homework may result in losing their place at the tuition centre.

Do you prepare students for selective schools or entrance exams?

Yes we do, tailoring the lessons to the exams. You need to supply the syllabus of the particular school your child applying for.

How can I support my child while they are attending the tuition centre?
By being punctual, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and that the student has relevant folder/textbook/ stationery. We work very closely with parents and believe that they can make very good contribution in progress of children. We advise parent / career must check and overshadow children’s work at home. Children feel emotionally supported and work hard when parents acknowledge their efforts.
