Miss Gill
She is currently studying a Masters in Creative Writing at Brunel University after completing her undergraduate studying BA Creative Writing and English Literature with 2:1 from London Metropolitan University. English and History are complex and intriguing subjects but with a thorough understanding and practise of techniques will provide the student with a firm base to succeed. Relevant GCSE exam preparation and revision sessions are provided as well as coursework support.
Teaching Experience:
She has been tutoring privately for over four years and currently have eighteen students. She has completed the Literacy Leadership Award, assessing the ability to plan and prepare a literacy activity, showing communication and motivational skills. Having observed teachers, she was taught how to plan and structure a lesson i.e. the starter, an introduction, an interactive main activity and the plenary; how to use verbal and non-verbal communication successfully. She has also worked closely with her peers on A Level courses such as English and History by delivering revision sessions and presenting ideas on literary texts, articles and academic research.
Tutoring Approach:
Her approach to tuition includes a variety of techniques and strategies in order to guide and motivate the learner. She sets personalised targets with the students and their parents in order to achieve the desired results. This intends to provide a personalized programme that is best suited to the individual needs. She is an enthusiastic teacher and makes learning a fun experience.
Mr Dheer
He is an experienced and fully qualified teacher of Mathematics, working in a state secondary school. He has post graduate qualifications in Teaching advanced Mathematics in addition to PGCE with QTS. (Qualified Teacher Status)
Teaching Experience: With over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience, he enjoys helping students succeed by offering expert maths tuition to children from Primary to GCSE & A Level maths. He is fully trained and a qualified Secondary Mathematics teacher with enhanced CRB checks, ensuring that his lessons are relevant and fun.
He expects hard work and dedication but also understands the emotional needs and requirements of pupils. Sometimes all a pupil needs is encouragement and confidence. Performing well in mathematics is sometimes all about sound concepts and confidence. As a teacher, it is his duty to build up a pupil’s self-esteem and direct them to an improved perception of themselves as a learner.
As he is currently working as a mathematics teacher in a high school in Hounslow, he is well aware of all the exam boards and the recent changes made to the GCSE and A Level courses.
Tutoring Approach:
He provides both one-to-one sessions as well group sessions with no more than 4 students per class. His exceptional approach gives the student a strong foundation for academic success by being committed to improve results. This can be achieved by explaining the key concepts, working through problems together and setting plenty of practice papers as homework. Regular reports are provided on progress and the on those areas where further development is required.
